Operating for over 25 years, Eticod is a leader in the production of self-adhesive labels. Their portfolio includes labels printed on foil, paper and structured materials, with a particular focus on peel-off labels and tickets. In the past, Eticod only used flexographic printing technology intended for medium and high-volume demand. However, when more and more of their customers began to frequently order smaller quantities of labels, Eticod decided it was time to invest in digital print technology to meet the short-form demand.
Eticod was originally concerned about the quality digital printing would provide, however the company was persuaded when it discovered the high-quality performance of HP Indigo technology and in 2017, installed its first HP Indigo 6800 digital press.
“Only the HP Indigo range convinced us with its quality to invest in the digital revolution”, said CEO Aron Hu when speaking about the company’s digital transformation, who has recently invested in its second Indigo press, an HP Indigo 6900.
Since investing in HP Indigo’s technology, a whole range of possibilities have opened. Eticod is now able to tap into new trends such as personalisation and is confident in printing thousands of labels for their customers, all of them different.
A stand-out feature of the HP Indigo 6900 for Eticod is the ability to print on a wide range of different substrates. Eticod is now able to print on silver foil, structured paper, thermal paper and even wood. In fact, since using HP Indigo technology, Eticod has become one of the first printing presses in the world to print labels on wood. The company even received the international HP INKSpiration award for its labels printed on wood.
The HP Indigo digital presses have also allowed Eticod to expand its customer base, particularly those ordering smaller quantities of labels, which Eticod was not able to meet prior to using Indigo technology. The presses’ high-quality have enabled Eticod to produce original and highly-detailed labels, which the company has used for its own marketing purposes and showcased at industry exhibitions and competitions.
