GEW visitor numbers defy the trend at drupa

We are pleased to report that drupa was a resounding success for GEW, with a high number of senior decision-makers visiting our stand during the 11-day show. This follows the official post-show press release from the event organisers, which similarly points to the higher percentage of visitors holding positions within senior management, or company owners. The organisers point out that, despite the overall downward trend in the number of attendees - from around 260,000 in 2016, to 170,000 in 2024 – the decision-making authority of the visitors was felt to be significantly improved when compared to previous years.

GEW’s full team of UV specialists were on hand at drupa, to discuss customers’ individual requirements across all applications.

The official post-show statistics were similarly impressive, as stated by the organisers: “1,643 exhibitors from 52 nations presented an outstanding showcase of innovations and thrilled the trade visitors with unforgettable performances. The international share of the visitors was 80%, with attendees coming from 174 countries - a record figure. After Europe, Asia was the most strongly represented region with 22%, followed by America with 12%.”Going on to highlight the show’s effectiveness, they conclude: “Around 96% of all visitors confirmed that they had fully achieved the objectives associated with their visit. At over 50%, most of them came from the printing industry, followed by the packaging industry, whose share has increased significantly. Many well-known brand owners were also welcomed at the trade fair stands. Further, we were able to welcome around 50 large delegations from various nations, and numerous globally active associations and organisations chose drupa as the setting for their conferences and board meetings.”

We featured our full product range at drupa, with the focus on our very latest LED systems for sheetfed offset and industrial printing applications. GEW is uniquely placed in the UV curing market and able to offer a solution for almost every printing, coating and converting application, due to the breadth of our product range across both UV Arc and UV LED curing technologies.

Robert Rae, Managing Director of Sales at GEW, comments: “Our UV systems are the default choice for many in the industry, and this was highlighted at drupa by the number of GEW systems in operation all around the show. This in itself speaks volumes.”He concludes: “It was a pleasure to welcome so many existing customers and new prospects onto our stand at drupa, and to be able to discuss such a broad range of requirements with them across a myriad of applications… some very familiar, and some not so. Even with the mountain of UV experience that GEW has amassed over 30 years, we still enjoy being challenged with new and unusual applications.”
