Iñigo Pons, CEO and founder of Ingogroup SA, is talking about the company’s priorities, which have made it a leader in the field of packaging printing in Spain."Providing the best possible service to our customers is paramount," he continues. "And today that means offering the best possible quality at the lowest cost in the shortest possible time with minimal environmental impact."
Achieving all this simultaneously can be challenging, perhaps even more so in the demanding food and beverage industry, in which Ingogroup specializes. Founded in 2007, the company's focus on high-quality solventless lamination and flexographic printing has seen it grow to 80 employees, with an annual turnover of nearly €11 million. One of the keys to success has been investing in equipment that allows Ingogroup to maintain the expected high levels of service.
More recently, that has included investment in a BOBST MASTER M6flexo press, which is designed to offer maximum flexibility for printing film and labels. The printer is equipped both with DigiFlexo automation and oneECG technology, which enable uninterrupted production through a fully digitized, centralized printer operation.
For Ingogroup, the impact has been almost instantaneous.
"The MASTER M6 has helped us to become the first company in Spain to offer short and medium orders with the highest quality in less than 10 days," comments Iñigo. “Our clients are already seeing the benefits of this. One of the most immediate is the reduction of stocks as delivery times are very short compared to other printing technologies.”
Iñigo Pons also cites other cost reduction benefits, such as the price diminution of flexographic clichés, which allows constant design changes and promotional campaigns at a much more affordable price.
Meeting the sustainability factor
The MASTER M6 is an excellent solution for food packaging thanks to UV Track. The UV emission of the lamps is monitored while the printer is in operation with the certification of the entire printing process. The latter combined with low migration LED UV flexo inks opens up new opportunities for the production of packaging for the food industry.
"The low migration LED UV flexo inks help to mitigate the environmental impact of the machine and in addition, electricity consumption is cut by 80%," says Iñigo. “Meanwhile, solventless lamination allows us to become one of the first companies in Spain to produce flexible packaging completely solvent-free. This sustainability factor is very important both for us and for our clients”.
The MASTER M6 is not the first BOBST printer Ingogroup has invested in. Six years ago, the company invested in NOVA M1 flexo press.
“It was clearly a very good decision because since then we have acquired five more presses,” says Iñigo Pons, also referring to the four VISION M1 flexo presses. “Then we saw a demonstration of the new MASTER M6 and we decided that this machine could help us to realize our dream of going to the next level. Now, with this reality, we can deliver a powerful new message to our customers: short runs of the highest quality with a minimal lead time. In our industry, that's a very attractive offering."
