Drupa 2024 has been the perfect appointment for OMET to introduce VaryFlex V4 Offset, a real breakthrough in mid-web packaging printing market. Thanks to a newly designed Offset print unit featuring next-generation technologies and electronics, it provides the best performance in the production of high-end flexible packaging, premium labels and special applications.

One of the latest developments of OMET product range is the Varyflex V4, a new press dedicated to flexible packaging printing which features sleeve technology in 670, 850 and 1080 mm width. OMET Varyflex V4 represents the new benchmark in the mid-web packaging printing market, which provides the best performances in the production of high-end flexible packaging, with the maximum mechanical speed of 400 m/min and the combination of offset, flexo and rotogravure printing technologies.

OMET Offset technology is based on a patent design which makes it a unique top-class solution, specifically developed to provide high quality printing results. The design of the printing section ensures extreme stability at the highest speeds and high-precision ink transfer in every production condition thanks to remote-adjustable ink ducts with independent sectors, ink train with temperature-controlled distribution rollers and balanced dampening through 4 form rollers in contact with the offset plate.

On Varyflex V4 it is possible to convert the offset unit into a flexo station thanks to special converting equipment specifically designed to carry out the conversion in few minutes, providing production flexibility without compromises.

One of the main advantages of the Varyflex V4 is the limited downtime dedicated to job changeover. Changing job is easy and quick as this machine is managed by Easy sleeves format change technology.This innovative system guarantees quick repeat changeovers through user-friendly and effortless operations thanks to the Revolver cart, a smart sleeve-holding device that facilitates sleeves changeover, special sleeves integrating RFID identification system to prevent any possible human mistake and automatic set-up with independent pressure adjustment. It takes just few minutes to load a new job and make the machine ready to print.

Despite high speeds and job complexity, operators don’t have to worry about register adjustment anymore, the most complex portion of the job. This is thanks to OMET Vision automatic register adjustment and control system, that guarantees the operators will work without any stress when performing register set-up.

Varyflex V4 is a modular machine that can be configure with WET on DRY UV curing or WET on WET UV or Electron Beam curing and combine Offset technology with flexo and rotogravure printing modules, covering from short to long runs in flexible packaging production at the maximum speed of 400 m/min.

The new rotogravure and flexo units feature Direct Drive technology making them the best complementary solution in terms of quality and productivity, with no limitations in performance.
With hybrid printing you can combine the high-definition offset printing with the brilliance and the glossy effect of the UV or EB inks in offset with the unexpensive low cost of the water based white for blocking. On Varyflex V4 it is possible to print any kind of substrate, such as unsupported 12-micron PET, multilayer materials like triplex and quadruplex and paper.

Just in time deliveries, quick time to market, a print quality superior to rotogravure or CI flexo machines. No impact on the pre-press costs which can almost be ignored, especially when compared to rotogravure.
