A B Graphic’s Digicon 3 dominates in Russia

A B Graphic’s flagship Digicon Series 3 continues to be a hugely popular finishing option for print businesses worldwide, following an installation at Russia-based flexo print-house, Optiflex.

With over 30 Digicon lines installed in Russia, ABG’s finishing equipment continues to dominate the digital segment. Able to work faster, and capable of adding an even wider range of valuable finishes to labels, packaging and shrink sleeves, the Digicon 3 has a modular design, allowing it to be tailored to meet specific needs, creating a clear and competitive advantage for any print business.

Based in the city of Lipetsk [SW of Moscow], Optiflex initially established its digital offering in 2019 by installing a Konica Minolta AccurioLabel 190 press, alongside a GM DC330MINI finishing line. Having gained experience working with digital technology, preparing digital layouts and extending its reach into the short-run market, the company created an opportunity to attract customers in new markets separate to their flexo interests.

As its digital enterprise quickly developed, Optiflex upscaled their capability by investing in an HP Indigo 6900 in March this year, closely followed by the Digicon Series 3 in June. Both installations were carried out by ABG’s Russian distributor, NISSA Centre.

Commenting on the investment, Optiflex’s Aleksey Golubykh, said: “Optiflex is a young and dynamic company. We have been operating since 2012, expanding and updating our equipment almost every year. To further develop the digital side of the business, we spent some considerable time analysing our long term print and finishing requirements - ABG’s Digicon 3 is by far the best fit for our future needs.”

Matt Burton, ABG’s global sales director, added: “The growing market in Russia is very exciting for ABG, providing us with some real opportunities for us to expand our portfolio. Clearly Optiflex has untapped a rich seam of business for its digital initiative and we look forward to seeing the result of their new purchase going forward.”
