This new application-focused event will target the interior design community, highlighting the creative possibilities when using print to realise interior design concepts for retail, residential, corporate and hospitality settings.Printeriors will offer visitors a visual and tactile experience by means of a physical showcase of printed interior applications, presented through a series of room sets to represent different commercial and domestic interior environments. The room concepts will be realised by printing industry suppliers and/or their customers, with the emphasis on creativity and innovation over technology or process.
On Thursday 21 May 2015, Printeriors will also offer delegates a focussed one-day conference covering interior applications, materials, designs, techniques, trends and case studies. The sessions will be led by European designers who are actively using print to bring their ideas to life.
Roz McGuinness, Divisional Director, FESPA, explains the rationale behind the launch of Printeriors: “Print is making substantial inroads in the realms of architectural design and interior décor, from walls, floor coverings, textiles and decorative surfaces to furniture and accessories. With Printeriors, we aim to illustrate print’s creative potential to interior designers, architects, and other specifiers of interior décor. Printeriors will set out to inform, educate and inspire the design community, increasing awareness of print’s capabilities and stimulating demand for printed interior decoration.”
Roz McGuinness continues: “Of course, FESPA’s core audience of printers and signmakers will also benefit considerably from Printeriors. A large number of exhibitors at FESPA 2015, FESPA Fabric and European Sign Expo are already offering solutions specifically for interior décor applications, so many service providers in our community are already actively involved in this segment, or eyeing its potential. Running alongside the FESPA 2015 Global Expo, Printeriors is the perfect environment for graphic professionals to explore interior décor applications as an avenue for possible diversification. The opportunity to hear directly from designers will also help PSPs to understand these customers’ creative and commercial drivers and adapt their services accordingly. And with FESPA 2015, FESPA Fabric, European Sign Expo and Printeriors all under one roof at Koelnmesse, it’s then easy for visitors to return to the main exhibition floor to seek out the enabling technologies, inks and substrates.”
