"We at Fedrigoni are delighted to be alongside a multi-medallist champion like Salvatore Tavano and a team of excellence like BMW", comments Marco Nespolo, CEO of the Fedrigoni Group. "For us, automotive is one of our reference sectors, where we intend to grow further in the global market, with a complete range of self-adhesive products for visual communication and car wrapping. Many of the principles underpinning a successful sports team, such as teamwork, focus on talent, result orientation, drive for innovation and constant commitment to excellence, are at the heart of Fedrigoni's culture and DNA. And it is thanks to the talent, determination, resilience and passion of our 5,000 people that we have become the world's leading producer of special papers for luxury packaging and labels for wine & spirits."A leadership that Fedrigoni aims to expand also to other very promising market niches, such as car wrapping and visual communication for vehicles: it is no coincidence that last July the Group acquired the Turkish company UNIFOL, specialised in CAST PVC technology thanks to state-of-the-art plants, whose latest-generation film materials are used to protect car bodies, change their colour or apply graphics.
"I am thrilled to be back in a championship of excellence like the Italian GT", declared Salvatore Tavano. "I thank my sponsors for their support, I will certainly try my best to repay them with good results.”
Indeed Tavano, after having won three titles in a row in 2018 in the TCR Italy with the Cupra of Tarcisio Bernasconi's Scuderia del Girasole, scoring 14 victories and climbing the podium 36 times, has turned over a new page by choosing the BMW Italia-Ceccato Racing team.
The 2023 Italian Gran Turismo Endurance Championship will take place over four races: after Pergusa, the stages of Mugello (9 July), Monza (17 September) and Vallelunga (15 October) will follow. All races will be broadcast in live streaming on the social channels of the Italian Gran Turismo Championship (Facebook and YouTube) and live on ACI Sport TV, channel 228 of Sky.
