The HP PageWide Web Press T250 HD has already been used successfully at the subsidiary Solopress in England; the positive experience on-site played a decisive role in choosing the HP Inkjet printing systems for the site in Germany.
“We have been working with HP in several markets for many years. It was therefore only natural to take a closer look at the HP models when we were in the process of selecting new printing systems,” said Juergen Winkler, COO of Onlineprinters GmbH. “In the end, several things were pivotal for the installation of the two HP PageWide Web Press T250 HD as we were not only convinced by the performance of the entire system, but also by the new HP Brilliant Ink.”
The new HP Brilliant Ink have been specially developed for use with coated and uncoated offset media. The special formulation of these inks allows for standard offset materials to be processed without prior priming and they deliver high-quality prints with intensive colours and a high colour gloss. Further, the HP Optimizer ensures smooth colour gradients and even fillings. Thanks to its high colour quality and versatility, the HP PageWide Web Press T250 HD is particularly suitable for brochures, books, and catalogues, as well as for transactional and direct mailing applications which will also be the focus of the ONLINEPRINTERS GmbH’s future business. One of the presses will be mainly used to produce brochures, while the other will be used to produce business stationery, pads and other printed stationery.
Economic efficiency and time savings
In addition to the high-quality colour printing, the high cost-effectiveness for short and medium runs, as well as fast delivery and increased flexibility were deciding factors. “The two HP PageWide Web Press T250 HD make a crucial contribution to relieving our machine park when producing short runs and enable us to produce high-quality, digitally printed products,” emphasised Winkler.
In addition, the HP PageWide Web Press T250 HD features an integrated camera system and spectrophotometer for maximum quality and productivity of up to 152 metres per minute. This way, the system monitors print quality and delivers real-time images to the operator during production.
In addition to the two HP PageWide Web Press T250 HD, ONLINEPRINTERS GmbH has also invested in post-processing systems – the company recently installed a saddle stitcher and a saddle stitching machine from Mueller-Martini, which are used for the production of brochures, and a Hunkeler roll-to-roll trimmer for the second PageWide.
“The latest additions to our fleet enable flexibility, whilst simultaneously maintaining maximum quality. This way, we are not only expanding our digital print portfolio, but are also well equipped for long-term changes in the print market,” said Winkler.
