RotaPlate 75Q applies deposits of approximately 100µm thickness. The screen ensures a finely balanced proportion of emulsion over mesh, approaching zero, so that solids and fine details can be reproduced with identical results. Also new, RotaPlate 125V prints subtle patterns of 26µm thickness, for fine linework and text. The screens are ideal for a host of added-value packaging applications, particularly in the beverage sector. The tactile image, created by printing a clear varnish over an existing image, is an effective way of adding vividness to an icon or brand name, and thus enhancing retail shelf-impact. Using rotary screens to apply varnish offers a waste-free alternative to the embossing technique.
The screens will make their global début at Labelexpo Europe 2015, (Brussels, 29 September – 2 October, 2015) where they will be on display at the SPGPrints stand, 8A10.
Available on rolls up to 565mm wide, RotaPlate comes as a pre-coated, non-woven mesh that is assembled into a cylinder. It features the acclaimed welded nickel hexagonal hole-formation that is standard in all SPG screen technology. The high strength of this construction enables reuse of the screen, and print speeds of up to 50 m/min. RotaPlate is an economical solution for achieving high-quality results and stability at relatively fast print speeds, and offers excellent performance on all leading rotary screen presses and modules.
