Welcomed by Bart Oude Wesselink, managing director of the Maan Group, and ABG's CEO, Richard Knight, proceedings commenced with an insightful laminate demonstration. Thereafter, Roel de Ruiter, Maan Engineering's commercial manager, presented the innovative partnership to attendees. This was followed by a comprehensive overview of the linerless line demonstration.Linerless labels, unlike conventional labels, eliminate the need for a liner or backing paper. This technology, in addition to the absence of a backing substrate, offers the significant advantage of up to 40% more labels in linerless label rolls.
The linerless coating technology empowers label manufacturers and printers with enhanced flexibility in label production, enabling the creation of distinctive labels for various industries.
Commenting on the event, ABG customer Gabriela Neves Ferri, head of global R&D and sustainability at All4Labels, said: “Sustainability is a key market driver. With linerless technology, we can leverage further developments that will help reduce emissions. We see the solution being beneficial across the whole supply chain.”
Matt Burton added: “Today we are celebrating the new partnership between ABG and Mann. Collectively, we are both very innovative companies, so it made sense to combine our skills and expertise to offer this unique solution to the market. Following discussions with customers, we are inspired by the overwhelming interest and enthusiasm in this technology and we fully recognise its potential to help remove waste from the supply chain.”
To conclude the event, customers enjoyed a dinner on-site hosted by representatives from ABG and Maan Engineering.
Maan’s linerless solution will feature on ABG’s stand #6A37 at Labelexpo Europe 2023 on 11-14 September at Brussels Expo. Visitors can also visit the Maan stand #11D23, where they can engage directly with the team and explore opportunities with their suppliers as well.
