Fujifilm focusses on the business model of inkjet print production at Ipex 2014

Fujifilm announces today that it will be using its presence at Ipex 2014 (stand S4-E330) to showcase the business models for many different types of commercial print produced using inkjet technologies, to highlight the versatility and capability of its presses. On show will be the company’s Jet Press 720 B2 sheet-fed press, the Jet Press 540W web press, and the new Graphium digital label press, which will be making its UK debut at the show.

Fujifilm will be running both the Jet Press 720 and Jet Press 540W live for the duration of the show, in as real a production environment as possible. Thanks to a partnership with Intelligent Finishing Systems Ltd at the show, Fujifilm will be focussing on the production of finished print using inkjet technologies, with a Horizon StitchLiner 6000 on its stand. As a result, the company will be producing short run calendars, brochures, magazines, books, labels, manuals and posters with run lengths from 1 to 5000, and will be demonstrating the business model for each one.

As the demand for short-run print continues to grow, Fujifilm’s aim is to demonstrate the variety of jobs that can be printed profitably using inkjet presses that are commercially available today, and highlight to print service providers the potential business opportunities offered by inkjet printing.

The production of labels and speciality print will be also be showcased on the Fujifilm stand with Graphium, the new digital UV inkjet press developed and manufactured by FFEI, being used to highlight how production costs can be reduced and how the right digital press can be a viable solution for both short and long run label conversion jobs. Combined with Fujifilm’s new Uvijet Graphium ink, developed specifically for label printing applications, this system raises the bar in terms of the performance that can be achieved from a digital label press.

Finally, Fujifilm will be showcasing its XMF workflow production suite, and will be demonstrating how this advanced software can not only support high volume, variable data digital print production, but also handle the fast turnarounds required for shorter run digital print.

Graham Leeson, head of european communications, Fujifilm Graphic Systems, comments: “When visitors to Ipex arrive at our stand they will step into a real-life inkjet production environment, with the opportunity to see just how inkjet presses can profitably print many types of fast turnaround, short run print. We are committed to demonstrating the power of inkjet technologies and open people’s eyes to its full potential and Ipex provides us with the perfect platform to achieve this.”
